Access Log Files and Versions

Finding the Log Files on Ubuntu 22.04 or macOS

  • The NVIDIA AI Workbench application log files are in ~/.nvwb/logs/

  • There are three files: nvwb.log, traefik.log, and workbench.log

Getting Version Numbers on Ubuntu 22.04 or macOS

  • You can get the version of the CLI with nvwb version.

  • For the Workbench Service and Credential Manager do the following:

    • ~/.nvwb/bin/wb-svc version to get the version of the Workbench Service.

    • ~/.nvwb/bin/credential-manager version to get the version of the Credential Manager.

Finding the Log Files on Windows

  • There are two different locations with log files.

  • In the WSL2 distro, NVIDIA-Workbench, there are three files in the directory ~/.nvwb/logs/

  • On the Windows side, there is one log file, main, at the following location: C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Local\NVIDIA Corporation\AI Workbench\logs

Getting Version Numbers on Windows

  • You can get the version of the CLI with nvwb version.

  • For the Workbench Service run ~/.nvwb/bin/wb-svc version.

  • For the Credential Manager do the following:

    • Open a Windows terminal and change directory to C:\Users\<windows_username>\AppData\Local\NVIDIA Corporation\AI Workbench\

    • Run credential-manager.exe version

Copy the log files on the remote to your local system

  • Make a folder on your local system where you will transfer the files, <new_local_folder>.

  • Use scp to transfer the log folder to that new folder:

    scp -i <local/path/to/your/ssh_key> -r <ssh_username>@<ip_address>:/home/<ssh_username>/.nvwb/logs/ <path/to/new_local_folder>
