cuStabilizer Pauli Frame Simulator
Simulate a Stim-style circuit with cuStabilizer, and see the X, Z and leakage tables update gate-by-gate.
Instructions
- Choose whether to model leakage, and set the table dimensions in the section below.
- View the initial state as separate Pauli and measurement tables. During subsequent circuit simulation, cells will flash when changed by an instruction, and new tables relevant to specific operations, such as detector events, may appear.
- Type or paste a Stim-syntax circuit into the Circuit editor, or select an existing example circuit, which will override the table dimensions. Alternatively, insert a gate via the gate palette.
- Press step to execute the next instruction, as indicated by the green marker.
Keyboard: Right arrow steps forward and Left arrow steps back whenever focus is outside a text field; Ctrl + Enter (Cmd + Enter on macOS) steps from inside the editor. Esc restarts the circuit.

Sets num_qubits to one more than the highest qubit index and num_measurements to the number of measurement results in the circuit.

options
When enabled, resets and measurements resample the frame's free bit for each shot. R, MR and M randomize Z; RX, MRX and MX randomize X. When disabled, the free bit is left in place instead of cleared.

Gate taxonomy
Instructions are grouped by which piece of state they write.
Clifford
x z
Deterministically updates the Pauli frame. An X can become a Z,
or an error on one qubit can appear on another.
Noise
x z
Independently for each shot, with some probability, multiplies
that shot’s frame Pauli by a randomly chosen one.
Measure and Reset
M · x z
Measuring writes one bit per shot to
M and leaves the
frame alone; resetting discards the frame.
Shot mask
active set
Decides which shots the following instructions apply to.
