slice

pylibcudf.strings.slice.slice_strings(signatures, args, kwargs, defaults, _fused_sigindex={})

Perform a slice operation on a strings column.

start and stop may be a Column, an int, or None. But step must be an int or None.

Parameters:

inputColumn

Strings column for this operation

startUnion[Column, int, None]

The start character position or positions. None uses the beginning of each string.

stopUnion[Column, int, None]

The end character position or positions. None uses the end of each string.

stepint, optional

Distance between input characters retrieved. None uses a step of 1.

streamStream | None

CUDA stream on which to perform the operation.

Returns:

pylibcudf.Column

The result of the slice operation
