# Request to publish a marketplace demo

PATCH https://api.dsx-air.nvidia.com/api/v3/marketplace/demos/{id}/request-publish/
Content-Type: application/json

Submit a publish request for review. Requires `justification`. Optional `allowed_orgs_request_text` describes who should receive access if the outcome is not fully public. Optional `tags` assigns tag names to the demo before queuing the request (same rules as demo PATCH; omit to leave tags unchanged). Optional `publisher` sets the publisher on the demo before queuing the request (omit to leave the existing `publisher` unchanged). `name`, `description`, and `documentation` must already be set. `tags` and `publisher` must be set, either previously or in this request, before the demo can be queued for publishing. Set `publish_images` to `true` to automatically publish referenced images that are not yet visible to the demo's target audience. Returns **400** when referenced images need publishing and `publish_images` is `false`. Returns **409** when another visibility or publish change is already pending.

**Required scopes (any one):**

- `air:marketplace_demo_write` (roles: `air_demo_manager`, `air_org_admin`, `air_user`)
- `air:marketplace_demo_publish` (roles: `air_demo_manager`)

**Additional permissions:**

- Only members of the owning organization, Air admins, or SREs may perform this action on this marketplace demo.

## Authentication

- `Authorization` header (bearer token, required) — Bearer authentication of the form `Bearer <token>`, where token is your auth token.

## Request

### Path parameters

- `id` (string, required) — A UUID string identifying this marketplace demo.

### Body (application/json)

This endpoint expects an object.

- `prefer_public` (boolean, optional, default: true) — When true, the requester prefers a public publish. When false, the requester prefers a restricted-access publish; describe the desired allow list in `allowed_orgs_request_text`.
- `tags` (list of string, optional) — Optional tag names to assign to the demo when submitting the publish request, using the same rules as demo PATCH. Each is 2-32 characters; letters, numbers, spaces, hyphens (-), and underscores (_) only; must start and end with a letter or number. Stored lowercased. Omitting the field leaves existing demo tags unchanged.
- `publisher` (string, optional) — Optional publisher name to set on the demo when submitting the publish request (e.g. NVIDIA, Google). Omitting the field leaves the existing `publisher` unchanged. A `publisher` must be set, either previously or in this request, before the demo can be queued for publishing.
- `justification` (string, optional) — Required explanation for the review request and notifications.
- `allowed_orgs_request_text` (string, optional, default: ) — Optional free-text description of orgs that should have access if the outcome is restricted. Not the authoritative allow list.
- `publish_images` (boolean, optional, default: false) — When `true`, queue image publish requests for org-owned images referenced by the demo that are not yet visible to the demo's target audience. When `false` (default), the request is rejected with **400** if any such image needs publishing.
