NVIDIA Virtual GPU Software License Server End of Life Notice#
This product change notice serves as formal notification that the NVIDIA virtual GPU software license server reached End of Life (EOL) on July 31, 2023. After this date, NVIDIA virtual GPU software license server has had no new features, performance enhancements, bug fixes, or security updates. Technical support and software downloads for the NVIDIA virtual GPU software license server are no longer available.
When technical support and software downloads were withdrawn, any legacy NVIDIA virtual GPU software license servers already deployed in your data centers remained unchanged. They continue to function in read-only mode and you can still convert them to NLS servers as explained in Converting Legacy NVIDIA vGPU Software License Servers to NLS License Servers in the NVIDIA License System documentation.
However, you can no longer perform any tasks on the NVIDIA Software Licensing Center for managing these license servers. Specifically:
You can no longer download any existing binary license files associated with your legacy NVIDIA virtual GPU software license servers.
You can no longer manage licenses and licensed products on an existing legacy NVIDIA virtual GPU software license server.
You can no longer create a legacy NVIDIA virtual GPU software license server on the NVIDIA Software Licensing Center.
If you are using an NVIDIA vGPU software release from release branch 13 or a later release branch, plan to migrate your licenses to the new NVIDIA License System. For more information, refer to Migrating Licenses from a Legacy NVIDIA vGPU Software License Server in the NVIDIA License System documentation.
If you are using an NVIDIA vGPU software release from an earlier release branch, do not plan to migrate your licenses. NVIDIA vGPU software releases earlier than 13.0 do not support the new NVIDIA License System. The EOL date of NVIDIA vGPU software license server was chosen to coincide with the EOL date of NVIDIA vGPU software release branch 11. This release branch is the last release branch that supports only NVIDIA vGPU software license server to reach EOL.
However, when you upgrade to NVIDIA vGPU software release 13.0 or later from an earlier release, you should plan to migrate your licenses as part of the upgrade.
The legacy NVIDIA vGPU software license server was deprecated in NVIDIA vGPU software 14.0 because release branch 14 is the last NVIDIA vGPU software release branch to support it. As a result, support for the legacy NVIDIA vGPU software license server might have been removed in a later NVIDIA vGPU software release before the EOL date.
