# holoscan::gxf::create_name

> Create a name from the prefix and the index.

#### Create a name from the prefix and the index

```cpp showLineNumbers={false}
std::string holoscan::gxf::create_name(
    const char *prefix,
    int index
)
```

Create a name from the prefix and the index.

**Returns:** The created name (`<prefix>_<index>`).

**Parameters**

**`prefix`** `const char *`

The prefix string.
