# hololink::emulation::get_broadcast_address

> Get the broadcast address for a given IPAddress.

Get the broadcast address for a given [IPAddress](/holoscan/sensor-bridge/2-7/api-reference/emulation-api/typedefs/ipaddress).

**Returns:** The broadcast address as a 32-bit unsigned integer

**`ip_address`** `const IPAddress &`

The [IPAddress](/holoscan/sensor-bridge/2-7/api-reference/emulation-api/typedefs/ipaddress) object containing the network configuration
