# hololink::emulation::IPAddress_from_string

python (use [IPAddress](../typedefs/ipaddress) object constructor)

Construct an [IPAddress](../typedefs/ipaddress) object from a string representation of the IP address.

**Returns:** An [IPAddress](../typedefs/ipaddress) instance

**Parameters**

The string representation of the IP address. Currently must be in format accepted by inet\_addr().
