Software Releases

NVIDIA IGX is powered by an enterprise level software stack.

Note

Software Stack on IGX has moved to IGX-SW. Holopack on IGX is now deprecated. It is recommended to move from Holopack to IGX-SW.

Going forward, the software stack on the IGX Orin Developer Kit has changed from Holopack to IGX-SW.

IGX-SW includes a two-part enterprise software stack. It includes IGX OS, which is a commercial OS and includes a signed kernel from Canonical, as well as an AI stack.

NVIDIA AI Enterprise offers enterprise level support with service level agreement for both IGX OS and AI stack in IGX-SW.

In comparison, Holopack was not an enterprise software stack. Transitioning from Holopack to IGX-SW is a step towards offering enterprise level software support.

The installation method also changed for a more simplified and user friendly experience. Unlike Holopack which is installed using SDK Manager or via the dialog prompt using APT, IGX OS is installed using an iso image on a USB flash drive. The AI stack can then be installed on top of IGX OS using Debian Packages hosted on the NVIDIA APT server or via containers.

IGX-SW is an enterprise software stack powering IGX platform.
