# Prerequisites

## Hardware Requirements

## Quickstart Requirements

The default quickstart uses OpenAI and requires an OpenAI API key with sufficient usage quota.

To use another backend, review [Configure Models](/model-server) and adapt the quickstart to use a supported hosted provider or a local model. Local inference may require a GPU.
