Microsoft DirectCompute is an application programming interface (API) that supports general-purpose computing on graphics processing units on Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows 8.
NVIDIA's Direct3D11 GPUs support DirectCompute. This allows developers to harness the massive parallel computing power of NVIDIA GPUs to create compelling computing applications in consumer and professional markets.
