Performance Measurements
In NVIDIA DRIVE PX 2 (P2379) systems, USB 3.0 Gigabit Network Interface Card (NIC) performance, with the default Ethernet Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) size (i.e., 1500), is approximately 650 Megabits per second (Mbps).
For better network performance, up to 970 Mbps, use a larger MTU size, up to 4088. This is the maximum supported MTU size in USB Ethernet drivers.
To change the MTU size
1. Execute the following command.
ifconfig <ethx> mtu <size> up
For example:
ifconfig eth0 mtu 4088 up
2. Verify that the new MTU size value is set and supported by the opposite end Network interface.
Benchmarking and Measurement Tools Used
iperf tool is used for benchmarking
iperf-server, running on the target system, is used for the measurements
Performance Measurements
Performance measurements are performed with the following USB-Ethernet Adapters:
DUB 1312 USB 3.0 Adapter
Trendnet TU3-ET
