Tegra System Profiler 2.x User Guide

Overview

Tegra System Profiler samples a target application and provides a report to the user, which is a statistical view of where the resources, such as CPU cycles and cache IO, are being consumed.

With Tegra System Profiler, a user could:

• Identify call paths that monopolize the CPU.
• Identify individual functions that monopolize the CPU (across different call paths).
• Identify functions that have poor cache utilization.

The Tegra System Profiler application runs on a host Windows, Linux, or MacOSX computer. It connects to target Android device via USB and launches or attaches to an application on that device which meets specific compatibility requirements. Tegra System Profiler installs and uses a special daemon on the device to perform the sample-based profiling and communicate the results back to the host.
