NVIDIA NeMo Fabric Quickstart | NVIDIA NeMo Fabric

This guide demonstrates how to install and run a simple agent using NeMo Fabric.

Install NeMo Fabric

Using Python 3.11 through 3.13, create a virtual environment and install the NeMo Fabric runtime, Hermes Agent adapter, and supported Hermes Agent dependencies:

source .venv/bin/activate
pip install "nemo-fabric[hermes-agent]"

If the environment already manages Hermes Agent, install the runtime and bare adapter with pip install nemo-fabric nemo-fabric-adapters-hermes. Refer to the installation guide for separate adapter environments and the other supported package combinations.

Obtaining API Keys

The following code example uses an NVIDIA-hosted model and requires an NVIDIA API key defined with the NVIDIA_API_KEY environment variable. An API key can be obtained by creating an account on build.nvidia.com.
