NVIDIA Dynamic Power Software#

Developer Preview Notice
NVIDIA Dynamic Power Software is currently offered as a Developer Preview. Access to DPS is governed by the applicable Developer Preview guidelines.
The software may have limitations, may change significantly, and includes functionality that continues to be refined through testing and feedback. It should not be used in production environments except as part of an authorized collaboration.
Dynamic Power Software (DPS) is a data center power management system that monitors power consumption, enforces power policies, and integrates with BMCs and cluster management systems. It addresses the challenge of optimizing power consumption while maintaining performance and reliability at scale.
Run a MaxLPS power pilot#
Assess whether four GB200 or GB300 NVL72 racks can deliver more aggregate inference throughput inside the same facility power envelope as a three-rack baseline.
Start with a five-step pilot overview, then follow the detailed procedure, telemetry guide, and troubleshooting guide when you need them.
Choose your path#
Run DPS in a Kubernetes-based simulator, with optional profiles that emulate 144 DGX GB300 nodes. No data center hardware required.
Start here if you are assessing whether DPS fits your environment, developing against the API, or building an integration.
Install DPS against real hardware: model your power distribution network, import a topology, and enforce power policies.
Start here if you have a Kubernetes cluster and BMC access to the nodes you intend to manage.
Already running DPS?#
Day-to-day procedures for a running deployment: change what DPS manages, watch what it is doing, diagnose problems, and maintain the deployment.
Start here if DPS is deployed and you are responsible for running it.
Connect DPS to the systems that already run your data center: workload schedulers, inventory and cluster managers, BMCs, and the electrical grid.
Start here if DPS needs to work alongside something you already operate, or you are building against the API.

The PDF is produced by the documentation pipeline and is present on the
published site. It is not generated by a local HTML build, so this link does
not resolve when previewing the documentation locally. To produce it, run
repo docs -b latex and then make in _build/docs/dps/latest-latex/.
