About NVIDIA BaseOS 9#
NVIDIA BaseOS provides operating environments optimized for AI, machine learning, and data analytics workloads. This guide helps you configure and optimize your systems for these workloads.
NVIDIA BaseOS 9 deployments are based on NVIDIA’s GPU driver branch 595 and DOCA 3.4.1. The software stack includes:
Additional custom kernels
Optimized libraries and utilities
Diagnostic and monitoring tools
System optimizations
All components undergo continuous testing and qualifications to ensure reliability and performance.
This document describes deploying NVIDIA BaseOS by installing and configuring a supported Linux distribution and the additional software.

NVIDIA BaseOS 9 Features#
The key features of the BaseOS 9 release include the following:
Validated and supported on Ubuntu 26.04, providing greater deployment flexibility across enterprise environments.
NVIDIA-optimized Linux kernel for Ubuntu.
Employs TuneD for dynamic, profile-based system tuning, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency for current workloads.
Uses the NVIDIA DOCA™ OFED (OpenFabrics Enterprise Distribution) software and the version provided by the Linux distribution.
Supported NVIDIA GPUs#
NVIDIA BaseOS 9 supports the following NVIDIA GPUs. However, validation and testing were performed exclusively on NVIDIA DGX systems equipped with these GPUs. ARM64 platforms are supported and tested on Ubuntu only.
