1629926 | Description: In some cases, when upgrading the driver, the user will see in the Device Manager a message that requires rebooting the driver. The issue happens due to a change in Windows Server 2019. The issue occurs due to the fact that after the driver is installed, the devices are restarted and then checked to ensure they are ready to be used. If they are not ready, they are marked as needing reboot. In Windows Server 2019, this function was overhauled a bit and it is now executed too quickly, although the driver installation is completed, the networking stack is still finishing up its configuration of the device. This causes PNP to think the device did not start up properly and tags it as needing reboot. |
