This page records NVIDIA Sync release history. Use it to review what changed in each Sync version. The NVIDIA Sync application links here from its Release Notes menu entry.

What’s New#

  • Resource Monitor: NVIDIA Sync includes a resource monitor that reports CPU, memory, and GPU utilization for a single device or a cluster. Refer to Resource Monitor.

  • SSH aliases for ConnectX-7 sub-interface addresses: When NVIDIA Sync writes node-to-node SSH configuration files, it now creates SSH aliases for the ConnectX-7 sub-interface IP addresses.

Fixed Issues#

  • Cluster Assistant documentation links: The Cluster Assistant now points to valid documentation links.

  • Local device in discovery results: Device discovery no longer lists the local machine among the discovered devices.

  • Stale managed SSH aliases: NVIDIA Sync repairs stale managed SSH aliases more reliably.

  • Multiple user accounts on one host: You can now add the same host more than once using a different user account each time.

  • Windows system tray icon: On Windows, selecting the system tray icon no longer redisplays the window unexpectedly.

  • Release Notes menu entry: The What’s New menu entry is now a Release Notes link.

  • Repeated Cluster Assistant netplan applies: NVIDIA Sync adds a UUID to the netplan configuration it generates. The UUID prevents tombstone records from blocking later Cluster Assistant netplan applies.

  • DGX Spark system software detection: System software detection no longer fails because of system localization.

  • Authentication errors over mDNS: Connections that use mDNS now return authentication errors correctly.

  • Connections opened from the Windows taskbar: Opening NVIDIA Sync from the Windows taskbar no longer closes an active connection.

  • Duplicate code editor launches: Code editors no longer launch twice.

  • User interface refinements: This release includes minor user interface improvements.

  • Disconnect from the Cluster Assistant rename step: The rename step of the Cluster Assistant includes an action that disconnects a device.

Fixed Issues#

  • Cursor remote folders: Cursor now always opens remote folders in IDE mode.

  • Connected device rename tooltip: The tooltip for renaming a connected device is clearer.

  • Missing cable indicator: The Cluster Assistant displays the missing cable indicator whenever a cable is absent.

  • Final cluster setup page: The final Cluster Assistant setup page has clearer messaging and working links.

  • Cluster Assistant messaging and links: Several Cluster Assistant screens have improved messaging and links.

  • Link Speed label: The Cluster Assistant labels the Speed field as Link Speed.

  • Operation timeout messages: The Cluster Assistant reports operation timeouts more clearly.

This release includes a dependency update that might prompt you to allow NVIDIA Sync to access information stored in NVIDIA Sync Safe Storage. This prompt is expected. Select Always Allow to prevent it from appearing again.

Fixed Issues#

  • System software version check: The Cluster Assistant no longer reports a version check error on devices running the July 2026 update or later.

  • Default SSH configuration during updates: Updates no longer overwrite the default SSH configuration file.

  • System tray position on Ubuntu 26.04: NVIDIA Sync starts under Xwayland, which corrects system tray positioning on Ubuntu 26.04.

  • Windows installer packaging: This release corrects Windows packaging problems related to NSIS 7z filters.

  • Loading state during cluster setup: The Cluster Assistant no longer flashes a loading state briefly.

  • Ubuntu 26.04 terminal applications: NVIDIA Sync supports terminal applications on Ubuntu 26.04.

  • Tildes in imported SSH configurations: NVIDIA Sync expands tildes when it imports an existing SSH configuration file.

  • Local network probe on macOS: Local network probing uses improved timing and methodology on macOS.

  • Duplicate devices: You can no longer add the same device twice by giving it a different device name.

  • Searching For Devices step: NVIDIA Sync no longer skips the Searching For Devices step when a device is already connected.

  • VS Code Insiders download: NVIDIA Sync uses the current VS Code Insiders download URL.

  • Tailscale error details: Tailscale unexpected error messages include more detail.

  • User interface regressions: This release corrects several minor user interface regressions.

  • SSH alias normalization: This release corrects problems introduced by identifying devices with the SSH alias rather than the device hostname.

  • Workbench context creation: NVIDIA Sync passes the hostname when it creates a Workbench context.

  • Tailscale naming: This release corrects problems with Tailscale naming and device renaming.

  • Reconnect flow and settings page: This release corrects reconnect problems with multiple devices and flickering on the settings page.

  • Extra macOS terminal windows: macOS no longer opens an extra terminal window in some cases.

  • macOS window position: This release corrects window positioning on macOS.

  • Window hide timeout on Windows: This release corrects the timeout that hides the window on Windows.

  • Main window on Windows 11: The main NVIDIA Sync pop-up window no longer jitters on Windows 11.
