FedRAMP: Federal Risk & Authorization Management Program; a Government-led cloud security and adoption program focusing on a minimum set of rigorous security requirements to protect controlled but unclassified (CUI) data in the cloud.
Sovereign: A broad term used to describe a diverse and sliding scale of cybersecurity, personnel, geo-specific, and privacy requirements.
FedRAMP High: The highest level of FedRAMP requirements as noted in the FedRAMP High Baseline.
Government ready: NVIDIA’s designation for select software that meets the applicable requirements for up to and including a customer’s FedRAMP High & equivalent sovereign use cases.
STIG: Security Technical Implementation Guide; a set of cybersecurity guidelines developed by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) to ensure secure configurations for IT systems.
FIPS: Federal Information Processing Standard; a standard developed by NIST for adoption and use by federal departments and agencies.
FIPS 140-3: A FIPS standard that specifies the security requirements to be satisfied by a cryptographic module. It supersedes the prior FIPS 140-2 standard. See the FIPS 140-3 Transition Effort.
NIST 800-53: A NIST guideline providing a comprehensive catalog of security and privacy controls for information systems, which forms the basis for the FedRAMP control set. See NIST Special Publication 800-53.
