Debug over IP with ChessDE#

Prepare and run the application as described in Preparing an Application for Debugging. For ASIP Programmer builds, follow the swbrk() call with chess_separator_scheduler() so that subsequent code is not scheduled before the breakpoint.

For an ASIP Programmer binary, launch the JTalk server on the development machine using the system-wide pva-sdk-2.10-doip command. Use --help to see the available options:

pva-sdk-2.10-doip --help

Set the ASIP Programmer paths before launching JTalk:

export PVA_GEN2_ASIP_PATH=<PATH_TO_ASIP_PROGRAMMER>
export PVA_GEN3_ASIP_PATH=<PATH_TO_ASIP_PROGRAMMER>

The DoIP tunnel only needs to be started once per board. Multiple ChessDE instances may share one VPU DoIP tunnel while connecting to different VPU cores. Once the tunnel is running, launch ChessDE and connect it to the DoIP endpoint. See On-chip Debugging with ChessDE for the debugger workflow.
