Step #4: Connect the NVIDIA LaunchPad system to Fleet Command

Once the system has been created in Fleet Command, the next step is to work with a local installer to pair the physical system to the one we just created.

As a part of the NVIDIA LaunchPad Trial, an NVIDIA-Certified System has been reserved within Equinix Metal for your use. This system has been configured to automatically boot to the Fleet Command Discovery ISO to aid in provisioning. This ISO is what is normally provided by Fleet Command administrators to the local installers in charge of setting up the systems, to make it as simple as possible for them to connect and get the system online. We will be simulating that process here.

  1. Open the system console in a new tab via the link in the left-hand navigation pane, then hit the Enter key to proceed.

  2. Follow the prompts to complete the installation. You will first enter an administrator password for the system, and then confirm that password.

  3. Next, the system will go through some initial set-up, then prompt for an activation code. Enter the activation code generated for the System created within Fleet Command in the previous step.

    Note

The system console may disconnect during setup after entering in the password. Refresh the page to restart the session.

  4. At this point, the local installer’s steps are complete. The system will finish the pairing process unattended, and successfully show as online within Fleet Command.

    Note

This may take 15-30 minutes to complete.
