Production#
The installation and configuration of a cluster is automated using Ansible playbooks.
Note
You can also install and configure the cluster using these Manual Installation instructions. However, the automated setup is recommended as it provides a streamlined installation process with minimal manual intervention.
Setting up the Holoscan For Media platform using the automation involves two distinct stages:
Installation: Uses the Red Hat OpenShift Assisted Service and Redfish APIs on the cluster hosts to install OpenShift on the cluster.
Configuration: OpenShift cluster configuration involves tuning nodes for optimal performance and setting up the software stack, which helps produce ST 2110 compliant streams. The software stack includes GPU and NIC drivers, hardware network virtualization and PTP, for example.
Note
The playbooks are designed to be run on a different machine (not one of the cluster hosts), which will be referred to as the jump node.
