Production#
NVIDIA recommends the Installer Agent for installing and configuring a cluster. This desktop application guides you through a wizard, connects to the jump node over SSH, and runs the Ansible playbooks for you.
Alternatively, you can download and run the Ansible playbooks yourself, as described later in this section.
Note
You can also install and configure the cluster using the Manual Installation instructions. However, NVIDIA recommends the automated setup because it requires minimal manual intervention.
Setting up the Holoscan for Media platform with the Ansible playbooks has two stages:
Installation: Uses the Red Hat OpenShift Assisted Service and Redfish APIs on the cluster hosts to install OpenShift on the cluster.
Configuration: Tunes nodes for optimal performance and sets up the software stack, which helps produce ST 2110-compliant streams. The software stack includes components such as GPU and network interface card (NIC) drivers, hardware network virtualization, and Precision Time Protocol (PTP).
Note
Run the playbooks on a separate machine that is not one of the cluster hosts. This guide calls that machine the jump node.
