This section describes OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) cluster installation, including a technology overview, design, component selection, installation, and configuration steps. The solution uses standard servers as OCP control-plane nodes and servers with NVIDIA ConnectX network adapters and NVIDIA GPUs as OCP worker nodes. NVIDIA Ethernet infrastructure connects the OCP nodes.
This guide uses the NVIDIA GPU Operator and NVIDIA Network Operator, which deploy and configure the GPU and network components in the OCP cluster. These components accelerate streaming workloads with CUDA, remote direct memory access (RDMA), and GPUDirect technologies.
These procedures assume a greenfield deployment.
The intended audience is experienced media and entertainment broadcast system administrators, system engineers, and solution architects who need to deploy the Holoscan for Media platform to run media workflows. These include workflows that use the Rivermax SDK.
This guide addresses the OpenShift installation and configuration steps related to performance tuning and the additional services that Holoscan for Media requires. You must follow network security best practices and OpenShift security best practices in your deployments.
