Virtualization Requirements and Supported Configurations#

BIOS Setup#

Restart the server, enter the BIOS or UEFI setup, and set the following option:

  • Intel Virtualization Technology (VT-x) or AMD-V: Enable this setting to run virtual machines. If you run only containers, you can usually leave it disabled.

AMD-Specific BIOS Setup#

  • SVM Mode: Enables or disables Secure Virtual Machine (SVM) mode, AMD’s hardware-assisted virtualization technology (AMD-V), on compatible processors. Enable this setting if the cluster runs virtual machines.

Operating Systems#

NVIDIA has validated the following guest operating systems:

  • Ubuntu Server 22.04 LTS

  • Ubuntu Server 24.04 LTS

  • Windows Server 2022

  • Windows Server 2026
